Chairman Inquiry Committee recommends strict action against Girls College Principal

Karachi: Two member Inquiry Committee of Directorate College Education Karachi region after completion of inquiry will issue show-cause notice to Principal of a Girls College in alleged misappropriation of funds, mismanagement, damage to College property and other irregularities.

An inquiry Committee was constituted vide DCE/K/INSP/770/2024 of March 11, 2014 in order to inquire leveled allegations by educationist Muhammad Kamal Raza against Professor Aisha Tauqueer, Principal Government Degree Girls College , Block N, North Nazimabad on above mentioned allegations.

Inquiry Committee consisted of Prof. Dr Hafiz Abdul Bari Indhar. Principal Government S M Arts and Commerce College as Chairman and Prof. Bushra Bisma Shah, Additional Director HR Directorate of College Education Karachi region as member.

Inquiry Committee inquired into allegation pertaining to financial embezzlement/mismanagement, theft of students' personal data and pictures, theft of College's grill and gates, Principal's attendance and irregularity.

Committee reached observations that-former Principal Prof. Haseen Fatima claimed that Prof. Aisha receive Rs 1.7 million for special budget while Kamal Raza claimed she allegedly misused Rs 3,3 million  but he offered no proof.

However, Principal did not clarity whether she received Rs 1.7 million and Rs 3.3 million, but Committee after inquiry reached point that Rs 5-6 lac have been utilized by Principal including purchase of biometric machine.

Committee concluded that theft of photographs and personal data of students from practical journals of Botany and Zoology has not been tackled tactfully. On gate and grill theft matter, Committee found that these articles were misplaced and removed and were kept back at time of counting date April 27. 2024 and April 28, 2024.

Committee found that Principal Aisha lacks necessary administrative qualities and abilities leading to mixed opinion of staff members regarding her performance.

She was habitual coming late to College as Committee observed and her conduct has disrupted daily routine of College. Negatively affected working relationship with staff. She is Physics professor but hired retired teacher for teaching purpose. 

Committee examine allegations made by Kamal Raza and found that complainant failed to provide proofs relaying solely on newspapers cuttings and clippings.

Committee, however recommended that in future no any photograph of students will be allowed and paste photographs on journals, copies and text books. Committee recommended transfer order of Prof.

Aisha to be issued and show-cause notice to clarify stated allegations against her on seven counts including illegal canteen set up in College.
