Chairman CAP announces boycott of pricing meetings in Commissioner’s Office

Karachi: Kokab Iqbal Chairman of Consumer Association of Pakistan (CAP) announced boycott of all meetings called for pricing in Commissioner's office. Talking to media he said that before Ramadhan, various meetings were held in Commissioner's Office to fix official prices. In these long meetings, prices are fixed by mutual consent are not implemented anywhere in Karachi. It seems that only meetings are called to complete task, which is of no benefit to users.

Commissioner's Office, Deputy Commissioner and other government machinery seem unable to implement prescribed lists or they do not want to implement these lists. On contrary, shopkeepers are forced to sell at higher prices.

He said consumer representative organisation he will no longer attend such meetings as protest. Items are not available.
