Lahore: Chaudhary Wajahat Hussain, younger brother of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Chief Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain announced his departure from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and return to his PML-Q.

In press conference, Chaudhary Wajahat said that he and his son Chaudhary Hussain Elahi have opted to return to their home party after their stint with PTI. He did not go into detail on specific reasons for his departure, but hinted that intra-family differences might have been mended. Former Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker and disgruntled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Dost Muhammad Mazari bids adieu to party. He met Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz. During meeting, Mazari expressing full confidence in leadership announced to join PML-N. Former MPA from Punjab Pir Syed Saeed Ul Hassan Shah also announced to quit party in light of attacks on military installations during violent protests on May 9. Saeed ul Hassan said that he supported PTI on every platform but what happened on May 9 has heartened him and people of his constituency. He condemned May 9 violence saying that people have huge respect for their armed forces and martyrs. Meanwhile PTI west Punjab President Faizullah Kamoka condemned May 9 incidents and announced to leave political party. Addressing press conference, former Member of National Assembly Faizullah said that May 9 is Black Day in Pakistan history due to riot, therefore, he is resigning from presidency of PTI West Punjab chapter.
