Islamabad: Chief Executive Officer of VEON Group Kaan Terzioglu discussed investment matters with Minister IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin-ul-Haque along with EXOR representative and CEO of Jazz, Aamir Ibrahim. Meeting discussed in details matter relating to sector, import of essential telecom equipment and investment opportunities.

Minister was also briefed on connectivity status in flood effected areas. Amin-ul-Haque said that Jazz’s investment in Pakistan, which has crossed $ 10.3 billion including around $ 1 billion in last four years alone on network expansion and upgradation.

These figures show that Pakistan is an Investment friendly country and we are providing maximum support to telecom sector for its growth. He said that there are vast investment opportunities in fields of e-health, e-education, e-agriculture and e-commerce. Healthy competition in telecom sector is essential for providing better connectivity to consumers, resolving issues of sector is a top priority, telecom committee has made recommendations regarding problems faced by telecom sector and submitted to Prime Minister Advisory Council on IT and Telecom. Kaan Terzioglu and Jazz CEO Aamir Ibrahim apprised about Jazz’s investment in Pakistan. They reiterated a healthy and stable telecom sector, foundation of a country’s digital ecosystem, fuels virtually all sectors of economy and is a prerequisite for consistent improvement in service quality for users.

Stable policies and enabling regulatory framework will help country in attracting further investments in its critical digital infrastructure and services portfolio. Jazz, Jazz Cash and Mobilink Microfinance Bank remain committed to leveraging all opportunities to accelerate Digital Pakistan.
