Islamabad: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar on Monday pledged unwavering government support for the successful execution of the highly anticipated 9th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The commitment was made during a crucial meeting held in the capital between the interim premier and Zaka Ashraf, Chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee. In the comprehensive discussions that unfolded during the meeting, a spectrum of cricket-related issues took center stage. Chief among them were deliberations on the upcoming PSL, reflections on the Champions Trophy, and a critical analysis of the recent performance of the national cricket team.

The future of the Pakistan Cricket Board, including discussions on the election process, was also on the agenda. Expressing contentment after receiving a detailed briefing on cricket-related matters, the Caretaker Prime Minister voiced his satisfaction.

He underscored the paramount importance of cricket diplomacy, emphasizing its potential to foster positive diplomatic relations. Furthermore, the premier issued a directive to Zaka Ashraf, urging him to take proactive measures aimed at enhancing the overall landscape of sports in the country. In a resounding affirmation of the government's commitment to sports, the Caretaker Prime Minister assured that all necessary facilities would be provided to ensure the seamless and successful organization of the upcoming PSL. Acknowledging the role of cricket as a unifying force, he stated, "Cricket is not just a sport; it is a tool that can be harnessed to improve diplomatic relations."
