ISLAMABAD: Condemning vandalism of churches and Christian homes in Jaranwala Tehsil of Faisalabad, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar affirmed to take stern action against those responsible for disgraceful act.

Taking social media site X, Caretaker PM Kakar said, "I am gutted by visuals coming out of Jaranwala, Faisalabad. "Stern action would be taken against those who violate law and target minorities. All law enforcement has been asked to apprehend culprits and bring them to justice," he hinted.

"Rest assured that government of Pakistan stands with our citizens on an equal basis," he added. Earlier in day, distressing incident of alleged blasphemy against Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and desecration of pages of Holy Quran pages attributed to Christian man Raja Masih triggered wave of violence and attacks on churches and homes in Jaranwala.

Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned desecration of church in Jaranwala and burning of Christian houses.
