Caretaker Minister Ahmed Shah announces SPL, to be kicked off from Jan 25

Karachi: Arts Council Karachi in press conference unveiled details about upcoming Sindh Premier League. Caretaker Minister of Information, President Arts Council Karachi Ahmed Shah, caretaker Minister of Culture and Sports Syed Junaid Ali Shah, Sindh Premier League President Arif Malik and cricketers Abdul Razzaq and Chaudhry Shehzad atended. Ahmed Shah announced commencement of Sindh Premier League (SPL) on January 25. Conference aimed to shed light on details of highly anticipated sports event. He acknowledging myriad challenges faced by people of Sindh, asserting their right to happiness. Teams from six regions of Sindh including participation of Sindhi children in national league is expected.
He praised forthcoming SPL as significant league and expressed full support of Sindh government. He announced that first day of SPL would be free for all attendees, while those without free access could purchase tickets for Rs 100.
He encouraged youth to support league, either by attending matches in stadium or watching on TV, thereby providing platform for local talent to shine.
Syed Junaid Ali Shah expressed optimism about SPL providing platform for young talent in Sindh. He thanked Ahmed Shah for engaging media and stressed need for comprehensive sports calendar in province.
He encouraged continuation of such beneficial programmes, emphasising importance of not hindering citizens’ happiness.
Caretaker Ministers announced organisation of Karachi Marathon post-election, underlining their commitment to fostering culture of sports in Sindh. Arif Malik provided details about league’s inception and its role in promoting cricket among Sindhi youth.
