Caretaker Info Minister’s denies Army deployment in G-B

ISLAMABAD: Government denied deploying Army in Gilgit-Baltistan.
In one of his tweets on social media website X, caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi said that Home Department of Gilgit-Baltistan has clarified that situation in Gilgit-Baltistan is completely peaceful and deployment of Pakistan Army, news and speculations circulating in media are completely baseless.
Home Department has enforced Section 144 of CrPC 1898 throughout region to maintain law and order, protect lives and property of people and avoid any untoward incident.
In one of his statements, he said that all roads, commercial centers, business activities and educational institutions in Gilgit-Baltistan are open as usual. Services of Pakistan Army and civil Armed Forces have been called only to maintain peace and order on occasion of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA)’s chehlam, special measures have been taken for security of procession routes and imambargahs as in past.
