Caretaker Home Minister Sindh assures FPCCI of full support to boost businesses

Karachi: Brig. (retd) Haris Nawaz caretaker Home Minister Sindh assured number of steps would be taken with full resolve. Government is fully committed to make Karachi business-friendly city, economic and commercial activities will be provided with required security protection which is missing swiftly, Karachi will be once again enabled to drive growth in entire country, raids will continue on drug peddlers and our educational institutions will be secured, crackdown on illegal dollar trading will continue, smuggling will be stopped at every level and elections will be held as and when announced by Election Commission in peaceful environment.

 On visit to FPCCI, he assured his Ministry will strive to improve law and order situation in province, grabbed precious lands of business community will be freed, safe city project for Karachi will be completed in under 2 years, street crime will be curtailed to minimum possible level, menace of narcotics will be taken head on and an active liaison will be set up with trade and industry to make Karachi drive growth for entire country.

 Irfan Iqbal Sheikh President FPCCI and Muhammad Suleman Chawla, SVP proposed that business community should be taken on board through formation of an effective committee between representatives of Ministry and business community.

 Shaukat Omerson VP demanded CPLC should be fully reactivated to promote community policing and general public should be assured of safety of their vehicles as in these times of crisis, inflation and unemployment, vehicles are one of most critical assets of general public.

 M. A. Jabbar VP maintained that people who do not need security or those who can afford their own security should immediately be made to surrender their police security with immediate effect.

 

Shabbir Mansha VP proposed on lines of many civilised countries, there should be so much trust between police and other law enforcement agencies that most complaints and grievances should be addressed then and there without wasting time, resources and efforts to go to various legal forums.

 Abdul Wahab G.M., Convener of FPCCI’s Central Standing Committee on Law and Justice maintained that prevalence of drugs and encroachment have become biggest issues for city and need immediate attention of caretaker Minister.
