Caretaker govt to ensure full use of SIFC forum: PM Kakar

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said that caretaker government would ensure full use of Forum of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

Terming SIFC as ray of hope for Pakistan's economic development, he said government would focus on development of different sectors under umbrella of SIFC.

Addressing meeting here in connection with working of SIFC, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said government would devote all its energies to stability and development of Pakistan's economy during its short tenure.

He directed to harmonise regulatory structure with contemporary international requirements to improve energy sector of country. He said Pakistan had vast potential for foreign investment in fields of agriculture, mining and minerals, IT, energy and defense production.

Secretary SIFC Jahanzeb Khan and Jameel Ahmed Qureshi briefed PM about steps taken to bolster Foreign Direct Investment.

Prime Minister was informed about steps taken to create opportunities for foreign investment in agriculture, mining and minerals, IT, energy and defense production under Special Investment Facilitation Council.

PM was also informed about whole of government approach to facilitate investors and increasing foreign investment under SIFC. Meeting was informed that under this forum, government would provide one window facility to investors for different projects.
