Canadian HC paid farewell call to COAS Bajwa

Rawalpindi: Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan Wendy Gilmour paid farewell call to Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ in Rawalpindi, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
During meeting, matters of mutual interests, regional security situation and bilateral cooperation in various fields came under discussion.
ISPR said that COAS thanked visiting dignitary for her services and appreciated her contributions for fostering strong ties between two countries.
Visiting dignitary expressed her grief over devastation caused by floods in Pakistan and offered sincere condolence to families of victims.
According to statement, she offered full support of her country to people of Pakistan. She also appreciated Pakistan Army’s efforts for rescue and relief in flood-affected areas.
Army Chief thanked her for Canada’s support and reiterated that “assistance from our global partners shall be vital in rehabilitation of flood victims”.
