Cabinet greenlights Kuwait’s $10bn investment in Pakistan

Islamabad: Interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar’s interim cabinet approved Kuwait’s groundbreaking $ 10 billion investment in Pakistan.
Cabinet provided its endorsement to seven agreements with Kuwait, with focus on critical sectors crucial for Pakistan’s progress including water resources, minerals and food security. Decision had received prior approval from both Cabinet Committee on Legislative Affairs and Economic Coordination Committee earlier this month.
This considerable investment represents substantial contribution to Pakistan’s economic landscape, promoting collaboration and partnership between two nations. It highlights shared commitment to fostering strategic alliance for mutual prosperity.
Few days back, Kakar urged overseas Pakistanis to consider investing in their home country, assuring them of comprehensive support and facilities from government.
Earlir, caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar said reforms are being introduced in investment policy through SIFC. Speaking in programme of private television channel, he said that good news regarding investment would come next week.
He said that foreign investors would invest in different sectors including minerals and agriculture. He said that government was also undertaking efforts for human resource development. He said that one million nurses would be trained in next few years.
