ISLAMABAD: In yet another twist and turn of events, a meeting of federal Cabinet was informed that cipher, which PTI referred to as conspiracy to overthrow former prime minister Imran Khan-led government has gone missing from PM House record.
A meeting of federal Cabinet under chairmanship of PM Shehbaz Sharif was held in which issue of audio leaks was discussed in detail. A special committee of Cabinet has been formed to investigate audios related to diplomatic cipher in Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and it has been informed that copy of cipher is missing from records of Prime Minister House.
Cabinet also expressed serious concern over fact that audios of former prime minister, former principal secretary to prime minister and other persons related to diplomatic cipher have exposed criminal conspiracy of former government and Imran Khan. Meeting noted that vital national interests were damaged by giving concocted meaning to a diplomatic cypher for political gains and it [cypher] was stolen after “fraud, forgery and fabrication”. It was strong violation of constitutional oath, other related laws and regulations particularly official secret. It was act of unpardonable crimes against state through which political interests were given priority over vital national interests. Therefore, it was necessary under constitution, law and rules to investigate issue in detail and those found responsible be given severe punishment in accordance with law. On Wednesday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said it is a good thing that audio of him with Azam Khan has surfaced and demanded that cypher be made public immediately. He criticised coalition government and reiterated that after regime change, notorious looters prevailed in country, who waived Rs 1,100 billion soon after coming to power. He questioned whether enemy could do injustice that coalition government had done in last five months.
