Cabinet agrees on forging strategy on polls in Punjab, KP after SC detailed verdict

ISLAMABAD: Cabinet agreed on forging strategy with regard to polls in Punjab and KP after detailed decision of Supreme Court (SC) will come. Cabinet while reiterating its resolve said economic stability is linked to political stability. Respect for institutions is incumbent on all. Country cannot afford further chaos.  Finance Minister Ishaq Dar took participants of meeting into confidence on national economy and IMF virtual talks. Cabinet met under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss five point agenda.

Overall political and economic situation of country was reviewed.  Meeting was given briefing on SC’s decision. Law minister informed participants about important legal and constitutional points. Cabinet members were briefed about dissenting note of judges in decision.

Cabinet members said all stakeholders will have to move forward together for improvement in national economy. Ishaq Dar told that IMF accord will prop up national economy. Cabinet expressed grave concern over persistent hike in price of dollar. PM directed to complete energy projects soon. Cabinet urged on taking ahead alternative energy projects. Cabinet recommended to accelerate pace of steps for preventing electricity theft. Cabinet proposed to hike tariff of electricity which is used for commercial purpose after official hours. Cabinet was informed about solarisation project.

PM directing to install solar system in state buildings steps for curtailing reliance on imported fuel are must. Work on solarisation of government buildings should be started soon.
