Business community calls for unity to stabilize economy

ISLAMABAD: The United Business Group (UBG) of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has emphasized the need for cooperation and unity within Pakistan's business community, highlighting these factors as crucial for stabilizing the national economy.

Zafar Bakhtawari, the Secretary General of the United Business Group, made these remarks during a visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries (ICSTSI), where he spoke on the importance of collaboration and integrity in business. "Businesses and personal brands should be built on hard work and integrity," he said, stressing that business leaders must lead by example and work together to strengthen the economy. He further added that unity was essential to making the voice of traders and entrepreneurs stronger and more effective. Bakhtawari also praised the role of the ICSTSI in working consistently for the welfare of the business community, acknowledging the chamber's efforts in creating opportunities for its members. He expressed his belief that the newly elected leadership would play a key role in driving the chamber's growth and development in the future.

"We must unite as one; only then will our voices be heard," he stated, urging the business community to collaborate in order to help Pakistan overcome its current economic challenges. Saqib Abbasi, the newly elected Chairman of the ICSTSI, echoed Bakhtawari's sentiments, underlining the importance of collective efforts for achieving success. "As we embark on this new journey, it is essential to recognize that we can only progress through unity. Business leaders have a responsibility to create opportunities for others and grow together," Abbasi said, emphasizing the need for a unified approach within the business sector. The outgoing Chairman of ICSTSI, Qazi Ilyas, also highlighted the importance of collaboration in achieving the collective goals of the chamber. "Today, we must work together for the development of the city and the country. If we unite, we will not face difficulties in achieving our goals," he asserted. Ilyas expressed hope that the chamber would continue to receive support in its efforts to promote the growth and success of small traders and industries in the future. The discussions at the event were centered around fostering a more cooperative and unified business community to overcome the economic hurdles Pakistan currently faces. Business leaders agreed that only through mutual support, hard work, and collective effort could Pakistan's economy see the stability and growth it desperately needs.

The call for unity comes at a critical time when Pakistan's economy is grappling with challenges such as inflation, fiscal deficits, and an ongoing energy crisis. Business leaders are hopeful that through such unity, they can contribute to the economic recovery and stability of the nation.
