RAWALPINDI: Bushra Bibi, the spouse of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, was released from Adiala Jail on Thursday after being granted bail in the Toshakhana-II case the previous day.
Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb of the Islamabad High Court approved Bushra Bibi's post-arrest bail request on Wednesday, requiring surety bonds of Rs1 million. The court also instructed the relevant authorities to facilitate her immediate release.
Bushra Bibi spent approximately nine months in Adiala Jail before her release. Earlier this year, a court sentenced her to 14 years in connection with the Toshakhana case on January 31.
Notably, Bushra Bibi voluntarily presented herself for arrest. The Islamabad High Court had previously suspended her sentence in the Toshakhana case, but she was subsequently taken into custody again in relation to the Toshakhana-II case.
