Bureau chiefs of electronic media discuss issues with Gov Tessori

Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori said that no one can deny importance of media, as it is eyes and ears of society, media draws attention towards correcting issues by identifying them.

Expressing these views during reception given at Governor's House in honour of bureau chiefs of electronic media Governor said that Allah Deen Park will soon provide recreational facilities to citizens as Jinnah Park. We are reconstructing it on orders of Supreme Court.

Governor said that orders have been issued to Additional IG to control street crimes. Intention are essential to work. I have met scholars of different schools of thoughts business community and people from different walks of life. I also talked to teachers and students in universities and schools.

Tessori said that we have to do practical work to make Karachi city of lights again, your suggestions and opinions will be useful in this regard. Bureau chiefs welcoming views of Governor assured him of full cooperation.

Administrator Karachi Dr Syed Saifur Rehman highlighted overall political situation, construction and development measures in province including health and sanitation situation in city.

Relations between federal and Sindh government, responsibilities of Governor as representative of federation, role of media in spreading awareness among people and other issues were also discussed.

Meanwhile, Kamran Tessori said that it is important to give equal opportunities to people with disabilities in society. Addressing wheelchair distribution ceremony on behalf of Selani Welfare International Trust in connection with International Day of Persons with Disabilities Governor said that people with disabilities achieve success after fighting against difficulties and they have strong desire to move forward.

It is important to maintain dignity and respect of persons with disabilities and to create awareness regarding rights of such persons in social activities, apart from rights of persons with disabilities in education, health, transport, employment and other sectors.

Governor condoled journalist Azam Jamali at her residence on demise of his mother. Governor Sindh prayed for forgiveness of deceased.

Governor congratulating newly elected officials of Crime Reporters Association said that my best wishes are with newly elected officials. He expressed hope that they will prove to be strong voice on issues of journalists.
