British-Pakistani MP, Kashmiri leader awarded Sitara-e-Pakistan

LONDON: British Pakistani MP Khalid Mahmood was awarded Sitara-e-Pakistan in recognition of his outstanding services for cause of Kashmir, for welfare of British Pakistani community and for his contribution towards forging closer ties between Pakistan and United Kingdom. Similarly, Raja Najabat Hussain, prominent Kashmiri leader and human rights activist was also awarded Sitara-e-Pakistan at same ceremony for his services to Kashmir cause and for raising issue of human rights abuses by Indian occupation forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

High Commissioner Moazzam Ahmad Khan conferred awards on both recipients on behalf of President of Pakistan at an investiture ceremony held at Pakistan High Commission London. High Commissioner extended heartiest felicitations to two recipients on this well-deserved honor. He commended their unwavering commitment and tireless efforts for cause of Kashmir and its right to self-determination.  Khalid Mahmood expressed his gratitude for honour and dedicated award to his fellow British Pakistanis, Kashmiris and all those who have supported him in his endeavors.  Raja Najabat Hussain thanked Government of Pakistan for recognising his services and vowed to continue his efforts for Kashmir cause.  Recipients received widespread congratulations and admiration for their outstanding contributions towards betterment of society.
