British HC Jane discusses bilateral ties with caretaker CM Punjab Naqvi

LAHORE: Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi said that tragic incident took place in Jaranwala. 5 churches have been restored while restoration work of other churches is going on rapidly. Expressing these views talking to British High Commissioner Jane Marriot here he showered good wishes for British High Commissioner Jane Marriot on assuming responsibilities in Pakistan.
Matters of mutual interest, education, health, culture, training of officers and bolstering cooperation in other fields have been discussed in meeting. Jaranwala incident and strategies to prevent such incidents in future were also discussed.
Caretaker Chief Minister said that meeting of Punjab Cabinet in church was held for first time in history and financial assistance of Rs 2 million per capita has been approved for affected people. More than 60 affected people have been extended financial support. He said that all Muslim scholars expressed complete solidarity with Christian community. We are working on comprehensive strategy to prevent such incidents.
British High Commissioner said that we appreciate timely and positive role of Punjab government in Jaranwala incident. We will continue cooperation with Punjab government in different fields.
Caretaker Information Minister Amir Mir, Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police, British Political Counselor Zoe Ware, representative of Britain in Punjab Clara Strandhoj and political Advisor Talal Raza were present.
