In a recent development, the British Asian Trust, founded by King Charles III, has severed connections with singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, after a shocking video surfaced of Khan assaulting a band member.
After examining the disturbing footage, the Trust, which is well-known for its unwavering stance against abusive behavior, quickly condemned any acts of violence.
A representative for the British Asian Trust declared, “We strongly condemn any form of violence, regardless of the circumstances,” and reiterated the organization’s stringent policy against abusive behavior.
In the viral video, Khan can be seen physically assaulting a band member and hurling abuses at him, while asking for a “bottle.”
In reaction to the criticism, the singer issued a statement, clarifying that the incident revolved around an internal conflict with a student, Naveed Hasnain. He also stated that the “bottle” he was refering to was water supplied by a spiritual leader to him.
Hasnain also defended Khan, stating that Rahat has apologized to him, and that unknown parties are seeking to blackmail his “teacher” and ruin his reputation.
