Bilawal tells world leaders ‘work jointly to tackle challenges’

KARACHI: Addressing ceremony held on 50th Foundation Day of Institute of Strategic Studies here FM Bilawal Bhutto urged world countries to work jointly to meet challenges of climate change, poverty and resolution of conflicts for restoration of peace. He stressed need for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve all outstanding issues. He said Pakistan wants good relations with other countries including China and India.
He said Pakistan is strategic partner of China and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is flagship programme and manifestation of this deep-rooted and time-tested friendship. He urged United Nations to play its role in resolving Kashmir dispute as per Security Council resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people. He stressed on interim-Afghan government to respect international laws and engage in negotiations with all stakeholders to restore peace in country. Turning to Russia-Ukraine conflict, he said Pakistan wants peaceful resolution of issue.
Bilawal Bhutto urged masses to join Pakistan Peoples’ Party for understanding value of human rights. Addressing an event, Bilawal Bhutto lamented that modern activism was only restricted to social media. “Which party you support is irrelevant in our human rights course. We would like to work on issues faced by our labourers”. “In country, where there are several issues with human rights, not single member of minority group held ministerial position. But we can state with pride that even members of minority are flocking to ministries now. He heaped praise on former late Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, saying, “Contributions made by Benazir Bhutto to human rights are noteworthy”.
Stressing need for meeting difficulties of new period in connection with press freedom and place of women in politics, he said, “PPP has played key role in both of these areas”.
