ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples' Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that PPP did not have enough mandate to become prime ministerial candidate. Addressing press conference here, he said, "PPP is determined to steer the country which is in doldrums at present."
Speaking about any possibility of alliance with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said, " PTI had made an announcement of not negotiating with PPP." Bhutto-Zardari said, "PPP has no interest in joining federal Cabinet."
"We [PPP] had ruled for 18 months along with PML-N," he said. Bilawal Bhutto said, "Parliament will be constituted, where matters will hopefully be addressed." "Process of formation of government will be completed for sake of country," he added.
"I hope that we do not have to look to go for another election in country," he said. He maintained, "Everybody was hopeful to get clear mandate, but nobody had clear mandate." PPP decided to vote Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate for Prime Minister office in National Assembly.
Addressing press conference after Central Executive Committee meeting, Bilawal Bhutto said that his party did not have mandate to form government in centre. He highlighted now that PTI had refused to form coalition with PPP which left PML-N as only party that had invited PPP to join government. He clarified that his party would not take share in federal Cabinet.
“PPP has decided to form committee to engage with other political parties for formation of government and political stability in country,” he said. “PPP does not want to see political chaos in country. PPP has decided that we ran this election on manifesto based on issues of public importance.”
As for presidential candidate, I would like to see father Asif Ali Zardari become President again as he did well in past.In response to question, Bilawal said all political forces needed to think about country and end politics of division.
