Bilawal advocates free, fair election as panacea for Pakistan’s woes

NOWSHERA: In address at workers’ convention here, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasised pivotal role of free and fair election in addressing myriad challenges facing Pakistan.
He asserted elections devoid of transparency hold no value, stating, “If result is to be determined before election, then there is no use of such an election. Only way out of all problems is free and fair election”.
Highlighting significance of PPP’s resilience, he commended that die-hard supporters of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their unwavering commitment to democracy. He stressed that despite current economic turmoil, rising terrorism and social division, PPP remains committed to serving nation.
He expressed concern over rising poverty, unemployment and inflation, attributing these issues to lack of transparent governance.
He urged Chief Election Commissioner and Chief Justice to ensure transparency in upcoming elections, emphasising that clean and transparent election is crucial for wellbeing of people.
In critical stance against other political parties, especially targeting PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, he asserted that PPP represented interests of common people and vowed to prioritise welfare of poor over affluent elites.
Bilawal Bhutto outlined his vision for governance under ‘Bhuttoism’, promising to uplift poor and ensure equitable development. He urged senior politicians to contest elections based on their manifestos rather than relying on administration, empahsising trust PPP places in people’s judgment.
He regretted that there no use of an election if results are pre-decided, adding that senior politicians should not waste their struggle and not contest elections on back of administration.
He warned that his party would not accept elections if anyone interfered with results. “We will only accept choice of people, not anyone else, he warned, reiterating his demand for Transparent polls.
