Baba-e-Cricket Karachi Ameer Akram laid to rest, sports personalities condole his death

KARACHI: Baba-e-Cricket Karachi Ameer Akram Khan, who was also the ex-official of KCCA and ex PRO of Sindh Police Cricket team, passed away on Thursday after prolonged illness. He was laid to rest at Pehlawan Goth graveyard in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.
A large number of sports personalities attended his burial. Meanwhile, ex-PCB chief selector Salahuddin Sallu, Ex Pakistan cricket captains Moin Khan, Younis Khan, interim Chief Selector PCB Shahid Khan Afridi, Vice chairman of Sindh Olympic Association Asif Azeem, cricket organisers Awais Khan, Saad Chaudhary, KCCA officials Prof Siraj Bukhari, KBBA president G M Khan, KPT sports director Hassan Askari, Ikramullah, Boxing Association President Asghar Baloch and cricket analyst Ehsan Qureshi have condoled his death and prayed to Almighty to rest the departed soul in peace.
According to his son Ahmed Iqbal, who played U-19 cricket for Pakistan, the soyem will be held on Saturday at his residence in Safari Comforts, Gulistan-e-Jauhar between Zohr and Maghrib prayers.
