KARACHI: Sindh Health Minister Azra Pechuho said that new variant of Covid is not as threatening as previous one. Addressing press conference she said that new wave of Coronavirus is not as deadly as previous ones were however, nation needs to be cautious in this regard.

Announcing precautionary measures against surge, she said that health ministry has to re-open isolation centers and must urge people to wear masks.

Azra Pechuho said that province reported 582 deaths and more than 34 million vaccines have been given. “Ministry has done more in Hyderabad and Karachi, children have also been vaccinated nearly 76 percent of children between 5 and 11 years have been vaccinated.” She said, neighbouring states like India and China have been battling with new and wild variant of Covid.
