Australian varsity launches scholarship for Pakistani students

Karachi: University of Wollongong (UOW) has extended its most prestigious Vice-Chancellor’s Leadership Scholarship for Pakistan. Pprogramme is aimed at inspiring new generation of young, passionate leaders and providing them with knowledge, skills and worldviews to be future leaders. Two Pakistani students will be awarded scholarship every year.
Scholarship was launched at momentous ceremony by High Commissioner for Pakistan to Australia, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri together with Vice-Chancellor and President of UOW Professor Patricia M Davidson and former Captain of Australian cricket team and Global Brand Ambassador of UOW Adam Gilchrist. High Commissioner thanked Vice Chancellor for extending Leadership Scholarship to Pakistan.
Commending initiative, he stated, “I am sure these scholarships will provide tremendous opportunity for outstanding emerging leaders from Pakistan to study at one of Australia’s top universities.”
Highlighting significance of programme, High Commissioner observed, “This initiative will not only enable our future leaders to develop academically and professionally but also experience diverse Australian culture and build lasting positive relationships with Australia.”
Describing youth as Pakistan’s greatest national asset, High Commissioner thanked UOW for being an invaluable partner in its human resource development efforts. Vice-Chancellor Davidson said, “We are proud to extend reach of our Vice-Chancellor’s Leadership Scholarship program to Pakistan. This initiative aligns with our vision of creating brighter future through education.”
Gilchrist said, “I’m excited to be part of this expansion. These scholarships will empower talented students from Pakistan to pursue their dreams and make positive impact on world.”
