LAHORE: Former Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb filed plea in an anti-terrorism court (ATC) for dismissal of case registered against her for an anti-state speech.
Muslim League-Nawaz leader appeared in court of judge Abhar Gul Khan. She contended in her application that she had no role in talk show and was not responsible for conversation in programme.
Marriyum requested court that she be acquitted in case. Later, court adjourned hearing for November 11. Talking to media after appearing before court, Marriyum said that people from across Pakistan travelled to Lahore to welcome Nawaz Sharif. She thanked people who welcomed their leader. “Only Nawaz Sharif can pull country out of crises,” she added. PML-N leader claimed that country was thrown into chaos for removing only one person from power in 2017.
She said people were aware of reality. “Masses are hopeful even today that Nawaz Sharif will usher in an era of prosperity and development in country,” she continued.
Marriyum said Nawaz Sharif never placed petrol bombs in hands of youth; he always talked about giving them employment. “Country was progressing in 2017; Nawaz Sharif’s narrative today is peace and prosperity,” she stated.
