ATC expresses anger over absence of IO in case against Uzair Baloch

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) adjourned case against Lyari gang war kingpin Uzair Baloch for keeping explosives, police encounter and attempt to murder. As per details, ATC heard case against Uzair Baloch where investigative officer (IO) inspector Rafiq Ahmed and accused Zakir aka Dada’s lawyer were absent from hearing.
Court expressed anger at absence of investigative officer as accused couldn’t be indicted in his absence. Judge issued non-bailable arrest warrant for investigative officer. Furthermore, court adjourned case till December 1. Earlier, Uzair Baloch was arrested in another case of keeping explosives, police encounter and an attempt to murder. Case was registered in 2012 at Kalakot Police Station. Only accused arrested in case, Ghaffar alias Mama was acquitted in 2015.
