Asif Zardari sends Rs10bn legal notice to Imran Khan

KARACHI: Former President Asif Ali Zardari sent legal notice to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan for leveling charges against him of hiring hitmen to kill him. A legal notice of Rs 10 billion defamation claim has been sent to Imran Khan from Asif Ali Zardari wherein PTI Chairman has been asked to tender unconditional apology within 14 days.
Legal notice was sent by Farooq H Naik on behalf of Asif Zardari wherein it is stated that Imran Khan accused Asif Zardari in his televised address, Imran claimed PPP co-Chairman has hired terrorist outfit to have him killed after previous attempt in Wazirabad on his life failed. It has been said in legal notice has Imran Khan solid evidence in this regard. This is sheer allegation and slander and this has led to create suspicions. Therefore Imran Khan should give his clear stance to court. Evidence should be brought to fore.
You are, therefore, hereby called upon to render unconditional apology from our client, on television, print and social media, within 14 days from receipt of this notice, failing whereof, our client shall be constrained to institute appropriate legal proceedings against you, civil as well as criminal, before competent Courts of law and forums of Pakistan as well as of England, including but not limited to suit for damages for Rs ten billion at your risk as to cost and consequences,” said notice.
