LAHORE: Former President Asif Ali Zardari said that Charter of Economy was need of hour. Speaking to industrialists in here, co-Chairman PPP underscored nation’s potential and dubbed country as “Golden basket”. Nation has been blessed with an abundance of resources by Allah Almighty, he added.

“I am willing to sign charter of economy. Investors are becoming uneasy and moving their money abroad,” Zardari added.

“I have reviewed exports of Bangladesh. Bangladesh is buyer of Indian products,”  Zardari stated.

He stated, “Made in Bangladesh” labels have been applied to Indian fabrics in Bangladesh. Zardari asserted country’s commerce must receive urgent attention in order to boost economy since he thought entire world was facing inflation. By encouraging trade, he continued, “Economy of nation can be stabilised.” Speaking about ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia, Zardari said, “Project in line with Iran-Pakistan pipeline will also start soon as relationships between Saudi Arabia and Iran are getting better.”

Former President poked fun at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan, saying, “I had told cricketer at Parliament to focus on Charter of Economy. However, that person had no knowledge in this area and he did nothing”.

He emphasised that all political stakeholders must work together for country’s future to be prosperous.
