QUETTA: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari yesterday delivered an impassioned address to party workers in Quetta, emphasizing the enduring mission of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed for an independent and dignified Pakistan.

He underscored their commitment to building a progressive nation, expressing confidence in the support for Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Zardari highlighted the resolute dedication of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto to the core values encapsulated in the manifesto of providing essential necessities - bread, cloth, and housing.

He paid homage to the martyrs, revering their sacrifices for democracy’s restoration, considering them the heroes in the struggle for democracy. He acknowledged the hardships faced by dedicated workers who endured challenging circumstances.

Reflecting on Bhutto’s legacy, Zardari emphasized the invaluable achievement of fostering freedom of speech, attributing today’s openness to the enduring legacy of Bhutto Shaheed’s efforts and the perseverance of the party’s workers, known as Jials.

He reiterated the vision of an independent, dignified Pakistan as the cornerstone of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed’s mission, a cause that saw both Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Shaheed and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed sacrifice their lives.

Calling for unwavering support, particularly for the youthful Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Zardari expressed confidence that the PPP chairman would live up to the expectations and aspirations of the nation.
