Asif Zardari proposes govt of Rs35,000 ‘wage plan’ for poverty-stricken masses

Karachi: In bid to provide relief to unskilled workers amid skyrocketing inflation, former President and Pakistan Peoples’ Party co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari proposed coalition government raise minimum wage to Rs 35,000.
Zardari said that decision regarding fixing salary of workers should be made at government level, according to statement issued. “It is responsibility of government to provide relief to workers,” he said, adding that far-reaching steps should be taken to address problems being faced by masses. It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-led coalition government had announced fixing minimum wage of unskilled workers at Rs 25,000.
