Asif Zardari, Faryal Talpur get relief in fake bank accounts case

ISLAMABAD: Former President and Pakistan Peoples’ Party co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur have gotten relief from court in fake bank accounts case. Accountability Court has returned four references related to fake bank accounts case against Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur to National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Accountability Court heard case against former President and other accused in Islamabad. Zardari’s counsel Farooq H Naek and NAB prosecutor appeared before court. Judge Muhammad Bashir announced verdict after hearing arguments from parties. Accountability Court returned four references of fake bank accounts case against Zardari, Talpur, Hussain Lawai and others to anti-corruption watchdog. Naek said that court has no jurisdiction to hear and hold trials of references after amended NAB law.
