Asif Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto to take party’s leadership on board for next ‘plan of action’

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples’ Party top leadership Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari reached Islamabad to chalk out ‘next plan of action’ following Supreme Court’s verdict, nullifying Election Commission of Pakistan order to postpone Punjab elections.
Sources told that Bilawal Bhutto has summoned PPP’s top leadership for consultation on Supreme Court’s verdict nullifying Election Commission of Pakistan order to postpone Punjab elections on May 14.
PPP leadership will take party into confidence regarding decisions taken during meeting of coalition parties. Party leadership will also consider to summon central executive committee or core committee meeting. Consultative meeting will also chalk out future plan of action.
Supreme Court declared ECP’s order postponing provincial assembly elections until October 8 as “Unconstitutional” and ordered government to release Rs 21 billion funds for elections in Punjab by April 10.
Top court directed to conduct Punjab polls on May 14. SC further directed caretaker government in Punjab to assist Commission. “Court will issue an appropriate order in case of non-provision of funds,” verdict read.
