Islamabad: PTI Chief Imran Khan in what can be termed an explosive claim alleged that former President Asif Ali Zardari was behind new plot to assassinate him for which PPP co-Chairman had “Given money to terrorist outfit”.

In televised address, he said that plans had been hatched to assassinate him as soon as he was ousted.

“Earlier, in public rally, I had told my supporters that there were four people who had planned to kill me but they backed off when I made these revelations.” Then “Plan B” was made to “eliminate” me in name of religion, Imran continued, referring to attack on his life in Wazirabad. “But I got to know about that too and I revealed their plan in two public rallies.”  Referring to Wazirabad attack, he said that people behind these “Conspiracies” had almost succeeded but “Allah saved him”. “Now they have made plan C and Zardari is behind it. He has unlimited corrupt money, that he loots from Sindh government is used in elections, to buy MPAs whether it is elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or Gilgit-Baltistan, he recklessly throws money around. “He has given this money to terror outfit. His facilitators are powerful people in agencies. Decision has been taken from three sides and they have planned to execute next crime,” Imran claimed.

PTI Chairman went on to say that irrespective of whatever was planned, he would be back in streets as soon as he recovered from injuries he had sustained during Wazirabad attack. “But if something happens to me, my nation should know who was behind it so that my nation never forgives them.”

Imran Khan lashed out at incumbent government and said lives of labourers and salaried class had been made miserable due to country’s worsening economic crisis after regime change.

Meanwhile, PPP leaders rejected PTI Chief’s claims regarding Zardari. Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that PPP would serve notice on Imran Khan for levelling ‘false allegations’ against Asif Ali Zardari. PPP leader criticised Imran Khan for ‘creating conspiracies daily’, saying that PTI chairman’s politics was based on ‘lies’. “Khan levels allegations only to get attention,” he said, adding that he will have to prove allegation in court.

PPP leader Saleem Mandviwalla said that Imran was attempting to mislead nation by making such claims against Zardari. He noted that Imran had remained “supporter” of terrorists in past. “Imran Khan is trying to save his dead politics using false and misleading narrative,” he said.
