COLOMBO: Pakistan’s snooker stars Mohammad Asif and Naseem Akhtar continued their impressive run on the second day of the third SAARC Snooker Championship, securing spots in the knockout stage with commanding performances.

Mohammad Asif, Pakistan’s most decorated cueist, showcased his brilliance by defeating Nepal’s Ankit Man 4-1.  The seasoned cueist reaffirmed his stature as a top contender for the championship title. Naseem Akhtar demonstrated grit and skill in a thrilling 4-2 victory over India’s Paras Gupta.  Earlier in the day, Naseem registered a 4-1 victory against Sri Lanka’s Mohamed Musharaff, with scores of 44-50, 62-22, 71-59, 62-42 and 71-8. His back-to-back wins highlighted his consistency and determination to succeed in the tournament. The ongoing tournament is the third edition of the SAARC Snooker Championship, with the previous two editions held in Bangladesh.
