PESHAWAR: Former Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser confirmed that PML-N leaders approached PTI for talks on election date. As per details, Asad Qaiser said that during meeting with MQM-P and BAP, government invited Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for talks.

Minister of Law and Justice Azam Nazir Tarar, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leaders Saad Rafique and Ayaz Sadiq approached Asad Qaiser for talks. Asad Qaiser said that PTI has always kept doors open for talks but stance on talks should be submitted to court as well. He added that PTI is ready for talks within timeframe but seriousness in talks is primary condition.

Earlier, Supreme Court adjourned hearing of petition seeking simultaneous elections across Pakistan after being told that meeting had been scheduled between government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for April 26. Apex court directed coalition government and PTI to hold talks and develop consensus on elections in country. However, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal Chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman said that they want PTI Chief Imran Khan out of politics but Supreme Court wants him at centre.
