ISLAMABAD: During hearing of petition regarding disqualification of PTI Chairman Imran Khan Islamabad High Court (IHC) has observed as to why this case be not referred to Election Commission (EC).

Petition seeking disqualification of Imran Khan for allegedly giving wrong information in his nomination papers came up for hearing before a single bench of IHC led by Justice Amir Farooq here. Counsel for petitioner Sajid told court we have filed a miscellaneous petition in this case. We want to make federation respondent.

Court remarked what is need for making federation respondent. You will have to satisfy court on maintainability of this petition. Imran Khan is not a public office holder now. See this point as well.

Barrister Usman, counsel for petitioner told court Imran Khan resignation has not been accepted so far.  Justce Amr Farooq remarked tell us as to why this case should not be sent to EC. Imran Khan had submitted his affidavit with EC. Faisal Vawda case was of this nature too which was sent to EC from IHC. Matter was related to giving affidavit in light of Supreme Court orders. Satisfy court on all these points. Hearing of case was adjourned for two weeks.
