Arts Council Pakistan Karachi elections on Dec 18: Commissioner Karachi

KARACHI: Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Chairman Commissioner Karachi and Chief Election Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Memon said that Deputy Commissioner South has been appointed as Election Commissioner for Arts Council elections 2023-2024. According to law, elections will be held on December 18.

Administration shall take possible measures for peaceful elections. Measures for campaigning and elections are set. Possession of arms is prohibited.  Addressing a press conference at Arts Council along with Deputy Commissioner South Saeed Leghari he said that nomination papers are being collected from December 7, 2022. Any kind of rioting and sloganeering will not be allowed. He said voter list would be displayed on December 7, names will be announced at 5 p.m. Nomination forms can be submitted till December 8 and nomination form will be scrutinised on 9.

Nomination can be withdrawn and final list of candidates will be displayed on December 10. Election campaign will end at 12 midnight on December 16, while voting will be held on December 18 from 10 am to 8 pm.
