Arts Council organises condolence reference in memory of Gul Hassan Kalmati

Karachi: Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Folk Heritage Committee organised condolence reference in memory of eminent intellectual and historian Gul Hassan Kalmati. President Arts Council Ahmad Shah, Manwar Saeed, Dr. Fatima Hassan, Karamat Ali, Dr. Ayub Sheikh, Nasir Gopang and other speakers expressed their views. Ahmad Shah said Gul Hassan Kalmati was great man, friend of all of us, he left many books. He said Gul Hassan is symbol of our love for land, name of Gul Hassan Kalmati will always live in history. His book was translated into English. He said that Gul Hassan memorial committee should be formed and an award will be given in name of Gul Hassan.

Karamat Ali said Gul Hassan Kalmati always fought for rights of people, Sindh government should name Gadap Town after Gul Hassan Kalmati.

Meanwhile, Red Bull organised break dance competition. 16 B-boys and 4 B-girls from Karachi participated in competition. Navin and Shah emerged victorious. B-Boy and B-Girl dancers who won competition will represent Pakistan in B-Boy Championship to be held in Paris in October.

Purpose of competition is to promote break dance in Pakistan. Enthusiasm of dancers was visible in B-boy Dance Battle. In competition, Brazilian B-boy World Champion NEGUIN performed duties of judge, who came from New York.

He was accompanied by Grifffin and Shaddy also in dance competition, well-known musician and rapper Taha G gave musical performance, participants kept swaying to Tahaji’s songs.
