Arts Council Karachi unveils Neelofar’s ‘Nayab Hain Hum’, book

Karachi: Arts Council Karachi hosted book launch ceremony for renowned broadcaster, TV actress and author Neelofar Abbasi’s second creation ‘Nayab Hain Hum’.

Interim Minister of Information Sindh, President Arts Council Karachi Ahmed Shah. Professor Dr. Peerzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui and Mahmood Sham were special guests.

Professor Sahar Ansari, Raju Jamil, Amjad Shah, Shaista Mufti, Sohail Shams, Maqsood Yousufi, A.H. Khanzada and Jameel Usman and Ambreen Haseeb were present.

Ahmed Shah emphasised cohesive teamwork within Arts Council, stating that all members function as unified team. He acknowledged Professor Sahar Ansari’s role as head of their team and expressed gratitude towards Neelofar Abbasi for maintaining her connections and cultural integrity despite geographical distances. He reminisced about Haseena Apa. He said that she was part of our lives and served as Vice President of Arts Council. She never considered women weak, she was against oppression and injustice faced by women.

Professor Dr. Peerzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui hailed Neelofar Abbasi’s ability to showcase various facets of society through her book, lauding her for portraying individuals, times and ideas that resonate with contemporary society.

Mahmood Sham remarked on memorable nature of event, underlining enduring impact of Neelofar’s writings, which etch themselves into hearts and minds of readers. According to Sohail Shams Titled ‘Nayab Hain Hum,’ book represents rare tribute to Pakistani cultural landscape. He emphasised that while book may not be lengthy, its impact is profound.

Fatima Surayya Bajia’s significant contributions to Urdu literature were also commended, particularly her role in educating generations beyond Pakistan’s borders. Raju Jamil expressed how life often brings moments where tears well up and characters portrayed in Neelofar’s book were truly exceptional individuals.
