Karachi: Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi organiszed unveiling ceremony of book ‘ Baqiyat-e- Iqbal’ authored by internationally acclaimed scholar and poet Dr. Taqi Abidi. President of the Arts Council Ahmed Shah, Dr. Fatima and Syed Abid Rizvi Hassan expressed their thoughts. Syed Abid Rizvi stated that there are no boundaries for literary figure and there is no need for visa in realm of literature. Iqbal was great poet. Allama Iqbal cared deeply for many orphans. Dr. Taqi has done remarkable job with this book. I am very thankful to Dr. Taqi for providing me opportunity to discuss this book. Dr. Taqi showers us with kindness. Ahmed Shah said that Taqi Sahib holds special place in our hearts. He is renowned doctor and poet. They have dedicated their lives to culture. They have published seventy books. Content within their book is as heavy as book itself.

Dr. Fatima Hassan said that a person’s recognition is based on whatever they are. Taqi Abidi’s greatness is that he never made his ego known to anyone. I spent seven days with him in literary caravan, but he never gave anyone chance to complain. Taqi Abidi has also conducted research in this book. This is not his first book on Iqbal, he has previously published books on Iqbal too. Understanding artist requires looking at both art and personality.

I am thankful to Arts Council’s vibrant spirit who initiated this conversation. Duties of Moderater were performed by Shakil Khan.
