Arts Council Karachi honours veteran actor Khalid Bin Shaheen

KARACHI: Arts Council Karachi Stage Show Committee organised a ceremony to pay tribute to the receipient of ‘Tamgha-e-Imtiaz’ legendary actor, prominent banker and Chairman Film Censor Board Sindh Khalid Bin Shaheen on his contribution to the Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
President Arts Council Ahmad Shah, Chairman Stage Show Committee Syed Saadat Ali Jafari, Chairman Drama Committee Shahzad Raza Naqvi, Iqbal Latif, Syed Amjad Shah, Raju Jameel, Ayaz Khan, Saqib Muhammad, Khalid Farshori, Chaudhry Farooq, Tanveer Afridi, Khadija Mahmood Shahid, Azhar Ali. Jafari and Muhammad Nasir expressed their views.
Bushra Ansari had telephonic conversation. Syed Noor and Ghulam Mohiuddin participated via video link. Ahmed Shah presented award to Khalid bin Shaheen on receiving Tamgha-e-Imtiaz from government. Shah praised the services of Khalid and said that apart from a good actor, Khalid is a very humble person with smile always on his face.
Khalid bin Shahid said, “I belong to old and new age, and my friends, teachers are all sitting here.” I am grateful to Ahmed Shah who organised this event for me. Shahzad Raza Naqvi said Khalid played role of princebut he was really prince at that time.
Syed Amjad Shah said that Khalid Bin Shaheen is one of those people who made realities of dramas come true. Iqbal Latif said Shaheen was eligible for honour. Khalid has worked hard to reach this point, he has earned name through his acting.
Raju Jameel said that in my eyes, work is more important than medal, person’s work speaks what Khalid bin Shaheen’s work is saying, I congratulate him, S Ayaz Khan said that person must learn something from someone and we have also learned lot from Khalid Shaheen, he is our mentor.
