Karachi: In collaboration with Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi and All Pakistan Women’s Association (APWA), poster exhibition was organised. President Arts Council Ahmed Shah stated, “For past three days, we have been celebrating Women’s Day. Various programmes including women’s conferences. Many Journalists asked to me whether my body, my choice slogan is correct. I want to say that if girl says it is her choice, it is right our religion allows it. Our religion says girls can marry according to their preferences. This needs to be understood in Pakistan.” “Our economy is drowning because we have kept women at home. Half of our population consists of women. When there is only one breadwinner in household, how will household function? APWA was first handicraft institution that thought schools should be built for children’s education and arts.
Students portrayed bold subjects and highlighted various issues through their posters such as suppression and Harassment. Those coming from smaller households have more hunger for success. Mothers and daughters have awareness about societal issues. I congratulate teachers who have taught these girls. Arts Council is collaborating with Music and Theater Academy. I am grateful to APWA for taking these girls forward.” He announced prize of Rs 50,000 for winning students of exhibition.
