Arrangements finalised for main procession of Muharram

 KARACHI: Saddar Town administration completed arrangements for main processions on 9th and 10th of Muharram.

Arrangements include street cleaning, sanitation and lighting on routes of main procession and majalis and shaam-e-ghariban.  All concerned staff and officers of Town will be present on their duty on Yome Ashur. While instructing Superintendent Engineer Iqbal Dahri, Municipal Commissioner Noor hasan Jokhio said main procession of 9th of Muharram and Day of Ashura takes place within limits of Saddar Town. All streetlights should be kept lit at end of procession and at places of shaam-e-ghariban and all measures related to cleanliness should be ensured around places of imambargahs, masajid, sermons and congregations. In this regard, any kind of negligence will not be tolerated.

Hasan Jokhio along with Superintendent Engineer Rafiq Sheikh, Superintendent Engineer Iqbal Dahri and Director Sanitation Asim Ali Khan participated in main procession on occasion of 8th Muharram. Hasan Jokhio said that supply of drinking water through water tankers has been continued from 1st of Muharram by Town administration. Staff of Horticulture Department has completed task of trimming overgrown branches of trees from Seven Day Hospital, Tibet Centre, Radio Pakistan, Light House, Densohall, Boulton Market, Kharadar and other areas on MA Jinnah Road so that performance of closed circuit cameras is not affected.
