Rawalpindi: Military’s top brass expressed deep dismay over certain vested elements to prioritise creating political instability and uncertainty by scapegoating others for their failings.

Concern was expressed during 263rd Corps Commanders’ Conference at General Headquarters here, which was presided over by Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir.

According to statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), forum amidst expressing solidarity with Kashmiri and Palestinian people, paid tribute to sacrifices of shuhadas including officers, men of Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, who have laid down their lives for peace and stability of nation.

Army Chief said, “Palestinian people have unequivocal diplomatic, moral and political support of Pakistani nation and we will continue to support principled stance of our brethren for enduring resolution of Palestinian issue”.

Furthermore, forum also condemned repression of Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and denounced human rights violations in Gaza, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for both causes.

Statement highlighted military’s commitment to supporting government in combating security threats and promoting socioeconomic growth in country.

This commitment extends to assisting in curbing all illegal activities including smuggling, hoarding and electricity theft, as well as ensuring implementation of One Document Regime and safe repatriation of all illegal foreigners.

COAS directed commanders to continue consolidating gains of efforts against terrorism and militancy.  Meanwhile, participants appreciated efforts of civil administration, law enforcement agencies and security forces for providing all-out assistance during general elections in light of Election Commission of Pakistan’s guidelines.

Forum noted that Armed Forces at great peril to their primary responsibility, provided security environment for conduct of GE-24 as per given mandate and had nothing to do with electoral process. However, forum expressed dismay that some vested small segments of polity and media especially social media have been maligning Armed Forces with unsubstantiated allegations of highly deplorable interference.

“In line with resolve of Prime Minister of Pakistan, forum committed that planners, instigators, abettors and perpetrators/ desecrators of Shuhada Monuments and attackers of military installations on May 9, would certainly be brought to justice under relevant provisions of law and Constitution,” statement added.

Forum noted with concern organised misinformation and fake news being spread by certain nefarious elements to sow despondency and divisions within society and urged proud people of Pakistan to remain positive and united and wholeheartedly participate in progress and development of country.

Participants affirmed that Pakistan Army will continue defending and serving nation in every possible way; in our journey towards enduring stability, prosperity and security.
