KARACHI: PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said there is room in law for extending service tenure of Army Chief but announcement made by Army Chief for not seeking extension is good tradition. NAB is a corrupt institution and if it remains then system in Pakistan will not work, he cautioned.

Talking to media men after appearance in Accountability Court (AC) Karachi yesterday he held third year is going on but no progress has been made in case. NAB has paralysed life of people. Will NAB  compensate loss caused to these people. People went to jails and abandoned their business. Berating NAB he said Javed Iqbal is unable to tell how much assets he has accumulated so far. Who sent others to jail without allegation is unable to tell about his assets.  I have been saying since very beginning that NAB should be abolished. Supreme Court should see NAB had done what in last 30 years. A dictator had laid foundation of NAB to serve his own interests.

He said references are made on those who work. What reference will be made on those who had done no work?  Unluckily neither judge nor lawyer reads Constitution in our country, he underlined. He reiterated NAB should be abolished as institution. We don’t want to see any one disqualified. Completion in politics should be done in electoral field. To a question he said PML-N was of view back door contacts always meet failure. 2018 elections are responsible for problems facing country.
