Karachi: Enforcing its influence, the Sindh minister of industries and trade Mr. Jam Ikramullah Dharejo has unofficially allowed Mr. Arif Zaidi, director administration, to assume the charge as MD, Sindh Industrial Trading Estates (SITE) limited without a notification from the S&GAD, government of Sindh, sources told this scribe.

Arif Zaidi has assumed the charge of MD SITE from January 06 and started to exercise powers in a haste. Soon on the same day, he got replaced the PS MD office Mr. Umair Aftab with Mr. Imran Solangi and have done a few more transfers, sources told.  Mr. Jam Ikramullah Dharejo has finally succeeded to get his yes boss MD to accomplish his most awaited tasks of some 200 files which were pending since as long as incumbents were not ready to sign some illegal files, sources further told.  There is no official posting notification of Mr. Arif Zaidi received in SITE limited as MD. This scribe asked him about such an order but he also does not have it. “You should first visit my office before publishing any news. My last order is effective and there is no need for fresh order,” Mr. Arif Zaidi responded. This scribe contacted Mr. Younus Daheri, the secretary SITE limited for his version but he didn’t reply on WhatsApp nor received phone call.  The order of any new MD SITE is issued by the S&GAD and I am not aware of any new order in this effect, Mr. Yasin Shar, the secretary industry Sindh replied when contacted.  Earlier, Mr. Arif Zaidi was posted as MD on acting charge basis for three weeks until the S&GAD notified Mr. Abul Aala Bhatti as the new MD SITE limited. However, Mr. Abul Aala Bhatti visited the MD office one day only and didn’t come back. It’s interesting to me too that now without any new order, Mr. Arif Zaidi has assumed the charge as MD himself, sources mentioned.  Soon after getting an unofficial node from the minister Jam Ikramullah Dharejo, Mr. Arif Zaidi has started to sign files in bulk quantity at a fast pace without even checking Codal formalities.

He has targeted some 200 files initially for approval and has asked all officials to catch the offers. There is a rate for every file to move and get approval, sources claimed.  Arif Zaidi is also working on all such cases and files which earlier were regretted or put on hold by the former MD Mr. Ghazanfer Ali Qadri as he didn’t sign bogus, fraudulent, doubtful files. Now, all such files and even plots of ownership disputes are also in the pipeline to get transferred and biomatric done, sources told.  Jam Ikramullah Dharejo has also paid a visit to SITE limited a few days ago and has warned all officials not to indulge in any court matter or try to approach the courts on the posting of MD. “I will see the one who tries to interrupt my orders,” sources quoted him saying to officials.  This scribe contacted the minister Mr. Jam Ikramullah Dharejo and his spokesman for their comments but they both didn’t reply on WhatsApp.
