Argentinian investors invited to exploit CPEC incentives: Naveed Qamar

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar asked Argentinian business community to take advantage of incentives offered by Pakistan government in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Currently visiting Argentina he visited Chamber of Commerce-Asia Pacific in Buenos Aires, said a message received here. Minister invited Chamber to send a business delegation to Pakistan to explore business opportunities in Pakistan and to meet with relevant stakeholders.

He urged Chamber and Argentine businessmen to avail excellent opportunities of trade and investment which Pakistan offers. Minister was warmly welcomed at Chamber by Dr. Luciano Ojea Quintana, Vice President of Chamber. Martin Lococo, Chief Executive Officer and Laura Miani, Institutional Relations Officer in Chamber also attended meeting. Vice President expressed his deep appreciation for visit and gave a brief overview of Chamber and its contribution for promotion of trade and economic relations between Argentine and nations of Asia and Pacific. He explained objectives as to foster commercial exchange and relationships between local businesses and countries of Asia-Pacific a region that has become major market for Argentine products and to bridge cultural divide, particularly in connection with language, custom and commercial practices.

He particularly emphasised strong and cordial relations between Trade Mission of Pakistan and Chamber and appreciated efforts of Mission in promoting business to business contacts between Pakistan and Argentina. Regarding cooperation in agriculture sector and grain preservation, Minister appreciated proposal of procuring silo bags and grain preservation technology from Argentina given its expertise in area. Naveed Qamar invited Chamber to participate in Pakistan’s premier textile and fashion industry exhibition TEXPO-2022 scheduled from May 26-28, 2023 in Karachi.
