APC urges SC to review Sani case ruling

ISLAMABAD: An all parties conference (APC) organised by World Council of Tahafuz-e-Khatm-e-Nabuwabt, on law for protection of sanctity of holy Prophet (PBUH) demanded of Supreme Court Chief Justice to rectify court ruling in Mubarak Sani case through suo motu notice.

APC, chaired by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, said that government should file references against three judges sitting on bench that gave ruling in Mubarak Sani case, otherwise, APC would file references. Fazl said that Supreme Court ruling in Mubarak Sani case had facilitated Ahmadis. Supreme Court should revise its decision through suo motu notice and remove ambiguities surrounding its decision. APC was attended by Liaquat Baloch, Dr Abul Khair Zubair, Maulana Hanif Jalandhri, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari and others.  Fazl said that they would announce plan of action on Supreme Court ruling at Minar-e-Pakistan on September 7. Government should file reference against three judges in Mubarak Sani case, APC declaration said. Otherwise, he added, parties in APC would file reference against Chief Justice and two other judges.
